camera frustrations
I am increasingly frustrated by my camera situation …
currently i pretty much only use my N95 with Shozu and Flickr
which is fine but the camera (while great for a mobile) is slow and fiddly and the flash is not really any good, there is no telephoto etc etc.
i love the instant nature of getting my images live…
today i have been looking at Eye-fi
i am very impressed, it means that i could get a real camera (DLSR or top end D compact) and pretty much get the same effect (when ever i am in Wifi-coverage / near my laptop)…
i am still confused, but increasingly find my self wanting a Nikon DSLR (Nikon only as i can borrow lenses of my dad)!

updated firefox with spell check
a new firefox plugin that spell checks any form you enter text in to (such as my textile box i am writing this in)!
this is a godsend for me and my terrible spelling, so make sure you update firefox and go to the addons page, and if you are British scroll down a bit in the dictionaries as UK English is a bit further down (or you may default to US and worse spelling).

having a go on Tumblr
having a play with Tumblr, a new tool for bringing all your disparate blog posts, flickr photos, del.icio.us links, Twitterings, myspace entries etc in to one place… my little Tumblr is here
and seeing as it will pick up this post, i guess it will start referencing itself and get in to some sort of loop ?
anyway it is worth a play as they have made it very easy to set up and use and it is simply and cleanly designed. GWFs.

Mobile Network agglomeration
Seems like the inevitable is starting to happen. After last years Ericsson get to run 3’s Network in the UK. Now Vodafone and Orange are joining their 3G networks together
Add to this that 3 mb mobile data is pretty much here for some customers, with 7 and 14 mb capability not far off. before not too long you should be able to get faster data speeds (I would hope reliably) on your mobile than down copper.
So what could be the future? I like the idea that all the network infrastructure is amalgamated so that the users get the best coverage and bandwidth, leaving the MNO’s to become our billing mechanisms, ideally flat rating calls and data making mobile the one stop shop for our comms, no need for fixed line (I wish for that with my extremely poor copper from my house to the exchange).

Twitterific for the PC or Twitteroo
Have been on Twitter for a little while now, and like it quite a lot, the mac crowd are all very happily using Twitterific and telling those locked into PC’s how great it is!
The first similar tool for a PC I have found is Twitteroo from Rareedge and so far so good, it installed well and does what it says on the tin, now i need to see if it does change the way I use Twitter.
