An interesting side project for me recently has been playing around with Mapping on a local Residential Lettings website here in Brighton

Its another fairly standard Textpattern install with a few tweaks but the fun has been getting the maps to show the ‘live’ property from the database dynamically.

The map is built using mapstraction and GeoRSS – the GeoRSS is generated directly from the Textpattern content management software that drives this site with many thanks to Ike Bowen for his how to create custom RSS feeds in Textpattern the Map data is free to everyone thanks to Openstreetmap

Ribot - iPhone site

the Ribot have recently updated their site with an iPhone specific version, mainly because it is nice to do so!

iPhone specific stuff includes contact tel / email that just works and a nice bit of iPhone / Googlemaps integration to show us all where they are.

time for a new look

along with Rodcorp’s insistance that light text / dark Background = bad, i am getting board of this layout, even though it took me an age to play with pixels in the header image to make it look like Brighton.

So off to the textgarden for me to find a new layout that will fit in with my new stripped down approach.
