JVM 513 on BlackBerry

Sometimes when unlocking a BlackBerry, or even just starting from scratch with an old BB you might see JVM Error 513 …

its ok… google points us to this page on BlackBerry.com

Also there are some great user forums out there:

I have used all these sites in the past to get useful answers and resolutions to BB related issues, either as a user of the device or as an admin of the BES!

Love these comments

Thought I would post about this…

So in relation to my several posts pointing readers to places where they can get the codes necessary to unlock their BlackBerrys

I get this lovely comment

From: noneedtoknow@hotmail.com

uhm, did you think about giving us the code?
because i’ve been looking for it for the longest while and still had no luck.

rate: thumbs down*

Sweet! so for 100% clarity, any BlackBerry unlock, requires a unique code that will only work with your BlackBerry IMEI.

so I guess I could post a code up here but it would be useless and a waste of time …

so if you want to unlock your BB you go and pay for a code, it works – all happy.

Yes I am shamelessly plugging the phone unlockers this is because I have spoken to them, they have offered me a test and it worked … can’t ask for more.

thanks

3,186 tracks played on Last.fm

my top 10 artists at the moment are:

I have been a member of last.fm for a while now, played a load of music, mostly on the (not so) random play provided by my i-Tunes.

I am comfortable with most of the bands in the top 10 but i am not sure that Embrace and Goldfrap deserve their postition! but i am at the behest of the random play feature.

for completeness some other stats:

I do love Last.fm!

No Wonder

interesting article on boingboing today from Xeni on a translator for US forces, sort of reminds me of all sorts of sci-fi stuff and I love the function – ‘there is no pork in this food’ – is it really necessary ?

however the crunch comes a little later in the article when the president of the company that makes the translator says -:

This removes pulling the trigger as the first option in dealing with foreign nationals

this is astounding, surely pulling the trigger should be way down the list of options when dealing with foreign nationals ?

I do not think i need to say any more!
